Four years ago – Pivot
Damen Services redefined its strategy; while safeguarding an excellent warranty service for our clients, we would extend our commercial business with a specific focus on parts sales and maintenance activities. By further developing our local presence fully utilizing the synergies with Albwardy Damen as a repair hub, to offer and deliver turn key solutions for Damen vessel owners in the region. This development was aimed at becoming the strategic life cycle support partner for our clients.
Today – Status
We have now set up a local branch of Damen Services in the UAE under the name of Damen Services Middle East. Under this new company we now operate offices in Sharjah and Dubai and keep improving our representation throughout the Middle East region, to bring our service to the clients where they are. The regional team has now grown to above thirty covering warranty, spare parts sales and maintenance execution, including both hands on technical specialist and project management. This approach have been instrumental in being able to develop closer partnerships with our clients. Through these close relationships we have seen a rapid increase in our overall volume as a direct result of our increased ability to predict and advise our clients on their future needs. Currently we are supporting a number of clients on integrated long term maintenance contracts.
We are officially representing Praxis Automation Technology B.V. for the delivery of innovative ship automation, navigation and electric propulsion equipment for all types of vessels and we are representing Eriks B.V. for the delivery of high-quality mechanical engineering components including valves, instrumentation, pumps and other related systems.
The Future – Staying Ahead
Back on the business front, things are changing too. Ships are getting more complex, new technologies are coming largely driven by legislators and general supply chain requirements from clients, both looking for a more green transport model. Damen Services seeks to play a central role in keeping existing Damen vessels up to date by proactively offering upgrades utilizing the new technologies used on our new vessels delivered today.
Damen Services Middle East will, together with Albwardy Damen, bring this to the regional market as turn key solutions, enabling owners to keep up with increasing requirements. The future as we see it is a mix of thrilling possibilities and challenges. But in partnership, we aim to guide our clients confidently into this new era.
